Ventilated Seats Performance
Hello everyone, just visiting here form the IS forum as a 3IS owner. The LS (and LC now) is my dream attainable Lexus, so I wonder, how do your ventilated seats perform in summer? Is it strong, or inadequate like my 2014 IS350s?
Thinking about making a plunge to a pre-owned 2013 or 2014 model next spring, but the cooled seat performance needs to be stronger than my current car's.
Thanks very much in advance.

They are turned on and I can hear the fans blowing, but they don't do much cooling. I did clean the little round filter under the seat, but there is only so much the seat can do when it is trying to blow through the perforations with the driver's body blocking them. In summer I have learned to lean forward for the first minute or so, to allow the air to cool the seat. It probably looks dorky to other drivers, but as I get older I just do not care. Probably could get the same result by letting it run for a few minutes before getting in.
What's odd is that my Wife's car seems to cool much better than mine. Maybe they upgraded the system between 2011-2012?

I've been in a lot of 2015+ Lexus including the LS and the ventilated seats work very well. They get pretty cold. The older Lexus' I've driven have had terrible ventilated seats but the newer cars are much better.
I think the ventilation efficiency decreases as the foam in the seat gets more compressed. That might tend to increase blockage of their air channels.
Barring any other issues, I’d guess the more usage a seat gets, the less effective the seat ventilation becomes.
