Default Annoying vibrations

I got my 2007 LS460 a few months ago and have an annoying vibrating sensation around 15 - 20 mph and another thats really bad from around 78 - 84 mph. Heres all that has been done to the car, all the control arms in the front end have been replaced through the dealer, I installed new pads and rotors and just had new tires installed a few weeks ago. The new tires helped a lot, but still have those vibrations. The car has had many alignments in its life and the OEM wheels have all been curbed, sanded and repainted. Any ideas what I should check? I think it might be the wheels, but not sure. Another guy told me the struts? Driveshaft? If I can get rid of this vibration, the car will be perfect! Thank you for the help!

If you think it might be the wheels, can you just swap out one wheel at a time with the spare and see if that cures it? That's assuming the spare is in good condition, of course.

How many miles do you have on it? I've had a very similar thing happen on a different vehicle (with the same driveshaft configuration). When I got under the car and started trying to see if I could find anything loose, I came across a worm joint on the rear half of the driveshaft. I replaced that and the vibration was gone. Its unlikely the culprit with low miles and I really never heard of any problems with them on the LS but you never know. My 2002 LS430 that I just replaced with a 2007 LS460L has 272,000 miles on it and none of the driveshaft parts gave me any problems. Again, I don't know your mileage but if its high, maybe a trans or motor mounts? I changed motor mounts twice on my 430 because the passage side broke both times.

Good luck with your search

The low speed vibration sounds more like a transmission issue than wheels/tires. The high speed vibration is most likely wheels/tires or possibly driveshaft/center bearing.

Thanks for the replies everyone. My car has 157k miles on it. The vibration I'm feeling at low speeds is also has a deep harmonic buzz that I can hear in the car.

The last few nights I tried putting the car into neutral as I was slowing down and did notice that the vibrations were less, but still there. Also noticed the two passenger side tires are starting to show uneven wear and the tires are about a month old.

Where would be the least inexpensive place to start? The low speed vibrations are the worst, since I'm always driving at low speeds. Also noticed that when I was feeling the vibrations, the RPM's were around 800's and went away a little when the RPM's went up. Thanks everyone!
