with the driver side mirror folded I bumped it to the side of the garage when I backed my car from the garage.

Now the mirror(housing is fine and still in good shape, no damage) won't move to the far left per my memory setting. I pressed the button to move it to the far left but it bounced back...in other words the mirror got stuck to a certain degree and it won't move to the far left

Any idea what's messed up and how to fix it without major repair?

Try pushing it out manually until it locks into place, and then cycle with the switch. Hopefully this will help.
