While I havent had any issues with wind noise etc I cant see any harm in some preventative care. Once the rubber seals get brittle and hard its there isnt much that can be done. Better to be proactive!

My 2013 is noticeably quieter than my 2007, but as others have stated; it doesn't hurt to try. I will be ordering this to give it a shot. Thanks for the heads up! My biggest complaint with my '07 was the wind noise.

This "grease" is a must have for keeping the rubber weather stripping from drying out..... Purchased a tube of it and rubbed it on ALL the weather stripping including the hood, trunk and the sunroof rubber. One tube goes a long way and results are immediate. This entire job is less than a 30 minute job and anyone can do it..... No tools needed!

The grease did absorb into the rubber better than I expected. Is it maybe worth applying it again as the tube seems good enough for 20 cars? lol

I'd apply it again onto older weatherstripping for sure

just applied silicon paste to the door seals, feels great, road noise reduced.

wonder if the Napa Sil Glyde silicone compound is equally good?

I received a memo today from upon high signed off by the Dear Wife herself that I will be given unfettered access to Her Royal mode of transportation the "LS" for 1 day and 1 day only to accomplish what so ever necessary menial tasks as I deem appropriate. The memo also further stipulated that should her shining knight fail to accomplish such menial tasks in the time allotted that he would be dealt with every so harshly come Saturday.

So I just want to make sure that the correct technique is too apply a light coating and spread it out with a gloved finger and just let it dry/absorb into the seals. Do not wipe if off or roll up the windows for what period of time? Also regarding the sun roof. We are not sun roof people and in the 3 years we have owned the LS since it camp off lease we have never opened the sun roof. What are your thoughts on jacking up the seal when opening it so I can put grease on the seal? Should I or should I not open it at this time.

Don't let me down guys I am to old to be treated harshly.

Dennis

What little research I did seems to indicate that it is. I was considering getting that first to try it out. Sourced easily at my local NAPA and far cheaper.

Yes, hard to believe that the local Napa store price is lower than Amazon price.

Personally? I'd use what everybody else has used and we know works and isn't messy and nasty. It's $14

I have no issue with the price, just convenience....especially as I'm in Canada. Napa is down the street, but ordering from Amazon requires significantly more effort and cost.

Forgot you were in Canada, that does make ordering more complicated.

Yea, I had my tube about 2 years after getting my old LS430 that I had for almost 12 years. I did it at least once a year but, normally 2 x a year. There is plenty left, I am going to do my LS460 this weekend, as I have not done it. I might as well do my wife's car as well...

Takes about 1/2 hour to 45 min to do the whole car after doing a quick wipe with water on all the rubber (just to get light dust off)

I rubbed some on my wife's 'seals' - definitely less wind noise!

Just to follow up on this. I finally got around to doing the seals on my 2017, and again noticed a difference.

Well worth doing this.

Be sure to get all the seals. I found that there’s a seal in the bottom sill plate that I never even knew was there.
