Didn't take out the seats, as mentioned before, the O2 socket I had didn't work and it was going to take too long to get the right one.
I cut the wires, used a regular socket to remove the sensor, put the new sensor in, cut the 4 wires and spliced them where the splice could be stuffed up thru the hole under the seat. There is a rubber grommet
where the wire goes thru the floor and it can be used with the spliced wire by cutting a split in it.
Has been working with the new O2 sensors since, and the world is a wonderful place again.
Made a 4-5 hr. job into 45 mins.

I received a code P2197 after putting in a can of BG44K. P2197 says Bank 2 Sensor 1 O2 failed. It is Air/fuel sensor Denso part number 234-9058 I need to replace. I recently bought this O2 sensor from a questionable Ebay seller. I am needing to replace it. This is where a good repair manual comes in handy.
Does anyone have a link to alldatadiy or techinfo that we can compare? Please post screen capture here. below are the steps and I am totally intimidated. Why do you have to remove suspension, belts, and exhaust pipes?
1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt
pretensioner activation.
NOTE: After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory
and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery
terminal.
3. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET COVER
5. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET
6. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER
7. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER PROTECTOR LOWER
8. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER
9. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE

Interesting to see how price on ebay differs between these 2 air/fuel sensors. 234-9052 for upstream left is half as cheap as 234-9058 is for upstream right. My order from NY is already here in Los Angeles in 2 days by USPS. wow.
Just want to add to this thread to say that I just changed my #2 o2 sensor by cutting and crimping the wires. I used the oem denso sensor. I used connectors with heatshrink. New sensor works great. It was my first time crimping anything but it was easy. Spend the money for a good crimper/wire stripper it makes it a lot easier! Old one
It was going to be a while before I got the special socket from China so I decided to do the job by cutting the wires. If I did that, I could use a "normal" socket to get the O2 sensor out.
I cut the wires of the new sensor long enough so that when I was through soldering the joints and shrink wrapping them, I could make sure the joints would end up inside the car.
All of the work went well, however, after resetting the "check engine & VSC" lights, the lights came back on after about 30 miles of driving.
So, I'm going to say, on my car, Bank 1&2, sensor 2 running rich, is NOT caused by bad O2 sensors.
My next stop will be to have the fuel injectors cleaned and checked.
Any other suggestions out there?

you need to change the upstream O2 which monitors fuel/air ratio, maf sensors, pcv valve, exhaust leak, leak in airbox or hoses, can cause a lean bank 1 or bank 2 , should also say what sensors example, bank 1 sensor 1 which would be driver side and upstream O2 sensor, downstream or sensor 2 is for your exhaust
Just want to add another vote for just cutting and crimping in a new one. Used heatshrink connectors and wrap, after 100 miles, so far so good. Dealer told me $720 for the job- I paid about $100 to do it myself (new Denso O2 sensor and a few supplies). Great advice on this thread, thanks!
