Front control arms and rear air shocks
Hi all
Been a while since I posted anything but nothing happening until last week when I took car in for 5k checkup.
When I picked it up, the tech had stated front control arms bad and both rear shocks blown!
I was was surprised because car had been in for 60 k everything in November 16 and I specifically asked to check all the suspension. Tech rode with me and we could not repeat the event. Sooo, no work done on suspension.
Well, this time I guess they could see it. Became an issue when service department did not think I had warranty. Round and round with Lexus but they finally agreed to do repairs under warranty.
When I had to sign the warranty repair paper, the sum was 8200 and change to Lexus. If I had to pay for this at going rate, service tech said it would be around 10 grand! Whew! Missed that one.
However, the ride, to steal from Prince, is sooo smooth, it must be a limousine.
Anyway, just wanted to share the bad news/good news.
Thanks to this site, I was able to sound more informed about the issue than otherwise. Thanks to all who contribute to helping us non-mechanics better.

Ouch man glad you were able to get them to cover that under warranty. I would say you dodged a bullet but at ten grand that is more like having an ac130 shooting at you and not hitting.

mine is a 2010. It had a remainder Lexus warranty that covered the entire costs. I was very fortunate no doubt.
however, I am very pleased with the driving, handling and now, again, quieter ride just need to bite the bullet and get those Pirelli plus tires. Maybe this fall;-)
