Default My AC fails to start when I start the car.

I just inherited a 2011 RX350. When I start the car, the AC fails to turn on with the engine. It takes about 30 seconds to a minute to start. It's been a problem now that the weather is 104 degrees.

Modern auto AC systems have several built-in safety mechanisms to prevent damage should there be any issues. Could be low refrigerant or a whole host of other things. These matters are best dealt with by the dealer or, if you have a good one close by, a specialist auto AC repair facility.

My old LS430 the A/C didn't never came on till it was cool. On my LS460, when I turn on the car, the A/C starts blowing right away and it's hot air for about 10-15 seconds (yes, it's fully charged, I checked it 2 weeks ago). When it gets cold it's ice cold.

I would trade back in heart bet...I much preferred it not to blow anything till the a/c was cool or warm (in the winter)

Hello!
When i bought my 2011 ls 460, the ac would not come on for 30 seconds or so. No matter what temp was on when the car when turned off, it would come on at 75. simple fix-i checked the cabin air filter. i bought a new one. you turn car on, set to recirculate, and change filter and ac worked and came on perfect ever since!

Actually chances are you did not need a new one. Happened to me. If the Filter carrier is not pushed in all the way the exact samething will happen. Have to wait about 45 seconds and comes on at 75 degrees.
From now on I will do a test if I replace. After replacing the filter and before you put the cover door back on. Switch between recirculate and fresh air. You can actually see the trap door cover open and close and tell if it is hitting the filter. If it cant close all the way for fresh air it acts like what you described.

You are probably right. If filter was not dirty, you are exactly right. Mine was really dirty!
