Default 150,000 milestone reached.

My daughter took this picture while I was driving, safety first.
Well I finally made it to 150,000 miles in my 07 LS and so far I've been very impressed. The car still drives for the most part like new.

Repairs made-- one wheel bearing, some of the front control arms and a heater blower motor. Not bad for ten years and 150k

The other day I had the thing up on the lift changing out my snow tires and I was able to take a look around under it, this car is tight. There are ZERO leaks anywhere on this car - after all those miles and years - that's very impressive (can't say I usually see that in cars with similar mileage). At 150k I should be expecting my water pump to fail soon, but hey, maybe it'll last to 200k? Who knows? But not one check engine light in all this time...no rattles, nothing. Call me impressed.

I'm not super thrilled with the paint - it's a bit soft in my opinion - lots of chips up front due to the highway commute I have, still it's more than I'd expect. And the leather seats are looking a little rough (driver's seat anyway), but I guess after ten years that's to be expected...doesn't help that I have the light colored leather either.

Synthetic oil changes every 5000-7000 miles, coolant has been done three times, tranny has been serviced three times, plugs done at 100k, brake fluid flushes every 30k, serpentine belt replaced, all recalls performed. The car uses very little oil, maybe a quart in 7,000 miles. I may try to drive it to 250,000 or I may sell it...I change my mind pretty quickly with cars. But so far so good with this one.

What a great testament to the LS460. Besides being for the most part rock solid, it's not too shabby on the inside either. Gratz!

Awesome! Speaks to the build quality of Lexus, second to none. This is the reason I got into Lexus cars 15 years ago.

Yep, they're great cars. Take miles like no other car.

I'm at 33k miles LOL.

Yeah paint is a weak spot with chip resistance, very glad I got the clear bra on mine. Leather seats, take it to an upholstery shop and treat it to replacement leather panels, it'll have a huge impact.

Mileage machines, no doubt.

A clear bra would have been great on my car, a little too late now, but certainly a wise investment. What I really worry about is the winters up here, before one of our storms this year I was driving behind a truck who's job it was to spray a brine right into the pavement and I thought...wow, that's not going to be good. There's been some days when they drop so much salt on the roads up here that it feels like your driving over rocks (don't know what's worse the brine or the actual salt rocks).

I'll have to give the leather panels some thought, she probably deserves a little love.

That's cool. I'm finding that mileage doesn't seem to bother these cars much.

Good Deal! The Aisin (Toyota) water pumps usually start weeping/leaking before they fail (unlike the plastic BMW water pumps that just disintegrate and fail catastrophically), so you may get 200,000 miles out of it. And most modern cars' paint is water based, so not as durable as the older solvent based paints. Progress, I guess. As for Toyota/Lexus leather......... someone at HQ should fall on their sword for the miserable quality/durability I've experienced in my cars!

I will catch up to your 150k in about 10 years if it's still even legal to drive your own car. I have my doubts. I think insane insurance rates will push people into self driving cars that will be mainstream.

Congrats! I believe the engine is barely broken in at 150K miles with basic maintenance.

You bring up a good point, I tell people with young kids...your children may not ever get the chance to drive a car like the way cars are driven today. Probably will save millions of lives, but I don't know how I feel about that aspect of our lives being taken away. It could happen.
