I've used Honda's Shin-Etsu grease ever since I bought an S2000. A small amount goes a long way. I use it twice a year on my cars, and I'm still using the tube I bought in 2005.

For folks experiencing this problem, you may need to escalate to corporate. These are not isolated cases.
It all starts with "cajoling" the service adviser, their on-site supervisor, and their local chain of command.... once those options are exhausted you go to corporate.
Of course, if you are significantly out of warranty, then obviously all bets are off.

Lo and behold, a mere four years later and very, very little mileage later (car was garage kept whenever not actively being driven), the exact same issue has returned on the new/replaced sunroof. This shows that the issue is basically a design flaw. The car has not spent much time in the sun at all, and has spent zero time in the snow. No leakage is notable yet, however.
Thought I'd share this update.

I'm planning on just filling the cracked/ lifted area with black exterior silicone or poly. Mine is 15 years old and is going out badly and quickly.
