Nice! Do you drive it a lot? I find that most members on here don't have a big commute and therefore you don't see too many high mileage 460's around here.

You will always have your garage queens LS's but there are many high mileage LS's simple because owners like myself truly enjoy driving our LS.

They grow up so fast, don't they!? Lets see how the next 100k goes. Based on others who've reached that milestone, you'll still be gushing about it. I'm at 140k or so now and I'm confident that she'll continue to impress me and won't let me down.

Couple months ago I posted some info on a 460 I found at the auto auction with somewhere around 280K on it. It had a very thorough maintenance history, but not really much needed to be done to it. I don't remember what repairs it had, but for the mileage it was getting, it wasn't much.

That would be awesome and a boost for those that are contemplating long-term ownership. And lets face it, great fodder for the discussions about how much more reliable the previous Gen LS's are. :wild:

Well, I got it in late-October...I think...with 93K on it.

My commute is 60-something miles a day, RT, but only four days a week. It's effectively my dedicated DD, as if my wife and I go anywhere, we take her RX300.

Roadfrog, I did the maths on it, and even at 60+ miles/day, it could, theoretically, be the last DD I own. I could do much, much worse. :-)

Wouldn't surprise me in the least. Yes you could do MUCH worse....this from someone who's owned "flagship" BMW's, where the drama never ends.

I've never been a BMW guy, but I did like the two Mercedes machines I've owned. Both from the old-world style of build quality (i.e., before Toyota handed them their heads with the LS400).

An '89 420SEL and a '95 E320. Both were quite solid, and the S-class...that car was just amazing.

OT, but the mention of a '95 E320 reminds me of when my Dad was negotiating on both a '95 E320 and ES300. He went with Lexus, our first of many, because the MB dealer wouldn't budge on price at the time. It would be 21 years later before I even came that close to riding in a Mercedes. Last year was the first time I rode in a Benz, a 2004 S430, and I was very impressed by the ride quality. The owner is a colleague and also reminded me of the reliability difference between his S-Class and our LS. His S430 was going in for a myriad of ongoing issues. In spite of all that, it rode magnificently.

They're very nice riding cars, but the LS is close. Even the current S550, rides and drives incredibly well, but I was surprised when getting back into my LS460 after driving a $115,000 example...did it ride $35,000 better than it? Not IMO.

Yes, there's something about BMW and, to a slightly lesser extent, MBZ ability to get just the right balance of ride and handling. As I've aged, though, my priority has changed from handling to ride - hence the transition from BMW to Lexus for my personal ride.
