2010 Mercury Metallic Sport from CA with 33k miles - $27.9k
This made me cry, as it is a perfect clone of my car but with lower miles and far less than I paid. It is even from CA - so no salt exposure:

When did you buy yours, and at what mileage? You cannot compare a price you paid at some time in the past to this one. I am sure you checked and concluded that you were getting a great deal when you bought yours.

That does appear to be an awesome deal and there are no accidents reported on the CarFax. It appears CF is changing their service by no longer showing any the car's service history unless you sign up for "my CarFax"
That said, it showing only 13 records on a 7 year old car would decidedly have me check it out on Lexus's site. It too has changed as I got an email from them to update my account. I am guessing they are going to make it harder for prospective buyers to use it to check out a car's history.

I bought my 2011 2-1/2 years ago as a CPO (still covered until September) with 48k miles on it for $40k. It came directly from CA to my house, and I store it before any salt gets put on the roads. Looking at it in the garage during the winter makes me think I should have bought a "pre-salted" AWD car so I didn't feel like I was messing it up if I drove it all winter. I will hit the CPO time expiration long before the mileage limit, and CPO coverage has been useful to make everything perfect, but with how reliable these cars are (and how the CPO coverage is not as good as it was when I bought mine), I'd buy the next one non-CPO. But theoretically this one will last forever - so I won't need to buy a next one.

Thanks for the info, Tec80. Consider this, you paid 40K 2.5 years ago. That was the prevailing rate for your CPO'd car at that time. You did not overpay, so I don't understand your "grief". As an IL resident, perhaps you should have bought an AWD. But there are many snow region members here who are very happy with their RWDs in the winter. Your car is well-built and reliable. The corrosion protection on your RWD is just as good as that on a "pre-salted" (whatever that means) AWD. Why would you not drive your car more often in the winter? Enjoy your car while you can. Besides, you admit that you haven't reaped the full benefits of your CPO warranty. Why let the miles go to waste? Drive more this spring and summer and get anything else fixed under warranty while you can. You won't know if anything is going bad unless you put the miles and drive the car more often .
