To LS460 owners, what SUV do you drive or recommended as a good company to the 460?
It is almost time to replace my 10’ RX350, what SUV do you drive or recommended as a good company to the LS460?

I have a '17 Toyota Sienna Limited Premium. It's not an SUV but it has many fine qualities. It is easy to get in and out of, carries 7 passengers or can be easily reconfigured to haul full size sheets of plywood. The sound system is very nice. Mine has the Limited Advanced Technology package too. We love it.

I have a '17 Toyota Sienna Limited Premium. It's not an SUV but it has many fine qualities. It is easy to get in and out of, carries 7 passengers or can be easily reconfigured to haul full size sheets of plywood. The sound system is very nice. Mine has the Limited Advanced Technology package too. We love it.

I don't want truck or van. We have a 7 years old daughter. I am thinking about maybe a Pre-owned GX, LX, BMW X5....
don't know why pre owned SUV worth more than sedan. Like same year GX is more expensive than LS
if I can't find the the SUV I liked, I will buy another LS, for affordable luxury, LS is really hard to beat in terms of price/performance. Only catch is having 2 LS in the family might be little boring

Not the X5!! We owned ours for almost 6 years and it nearly broke us. They are terribly unreliable and cost SO much to repair. Oil leaks, coolant leaks, transmission problems, radiators, batteries every couple of years, electrical gremlins, etc. I could go on, but there's a start. Fortunately, I'm a DIY'er so was able to keep costs down somewhat, but that vehicle was down so many times.....

We bought a 2003 in 2007 with about 35k miles on it. The problems started almost immediately and didn't stop until we got rid of it a year ago with 75k miles on it. It had a ton of work done when we traded it in on our CT200H. The dealer didn't want it but had no choice if they wanted a deal. They gave us 3500 for it. We gladly accepted and couldn't wait to get rid of it. When we traded it in, everything was pretty much working, but knew it was a just a matter of time before something else would break. Suspension components was something else that was always problematic. The only good thing about that vehicle was the power it had (4.4 V8) and it handled beautiful. It also pulled my 20ft boat like it was a canoe. It was a beast that way. But you never knew if it was going to start. So many electrical problems. Left my wife stranded many times and she had CAA on speed dial.

If you're asking within the Lexus family...no question: LX. I have a 2010 LX (purchased in 2014, upgraded from a 2004 GX) and absolutely love it. Similarities of the LX when compared to the LS- big, heavy, quiet, reliable, and a great V8 engine. The thing is a tank- and I don't know that you can find a safer vehicle on the road than an LX for your family to be riding in.
I prefer the LX over the GX due to the added width of the LX which gives you more space between the driver and passenger. Due to the added width, the LX also feels much less "top heavy" than a GX, especially at highway speeds. I have taken our LX on multiple 10-12 hour road trips and find it a very easy drive. Only big downside: I don't like the jump seats in the 3rd row- they take up valuable cargo space. They can be removed but it's a bit of a pain to do (or you can pay Lexus to remove them). If I knew I would never use the 3rd row I would permanently remove mine. Other downsides compared to other SUV's: gas mileage, you'll go through brakes a bit more often because it's so darn heavy.
I just had to replace the hydraulic ride system (somewhat comparable to "air ride" of a LS 460) - luckily my LX was CPO and it was covered as "mechanical failure." Would've been about $2k out of pocket. So either buy one CPO or do a thorough inspection and know what you're getting into. Hardest thing about an LX is finding one...
FWIW on the GX, rumors have been swirling that it may be discontinued or radically modified in 2018. Have a family member kicking tires and was told earlier this week by Lexus rep that it was going to be a major redesign.
