I don't notice any difference, it's more peace of mind that it's done. He did say that it was pretty black and nasty though.

I would NOT use a oil filter to wipe my butt........ and I would not use toilet paper to filter my oil.
What's next? Preparation H for stopping wiper streaks??

roadfrog, I know you stated that when you changed your oil and started using Toyota synthetic that the hesitation went away but what filter are you using ?? Just wondering if the Toyota was any different then after market.

I only use Toyota filters.....but only because they're almost the same price as aftermarket. I'd have no issue using anything else if they were significantly cheaper. I've gone nearly 10k miles on the Toyota filters and they were in fine shape when I replaced them.

If you are running an extended OCI the Fram Ultra Syntheic line is a favorite among many. 99% filtration @ 20 microns and a silicon ADV. This is what I run on all my vehicles with great success. Way better then the OEM filter and most out there.

Mobil Oil filter now avail: MIC-256

Explain "way better". Keep in mind that those numbers are not far off from pretty much any filter out there. Also keep in mind that there is a balance between flow and filtering. You could make a filter that filters down to 1 micron, but that would mean no flow. Toyota engines are known to go a half million miles on standard filters. Lets not over think this. Your air filter is far more important to engine health than whether you use an OEM oil filter or a cheap Fram.

Default Allow me to explain "way better"

If a company like Mobil gives you a 15k gaurantee, it's better than 5k with no gaurantee Further, a 10k oci should be within reason

UPDATE --

Just an FYI, I changed the oil last night to see if the re-flash worked on the transmission, I used the NAPA Gold filter instead of the Toyota to eliminate any confusion. Well, the re-flash worked ! I drove around for awhile trying to get it to hesitate and nothing. What the re-flash for the transmission has to do with the engine, I don't know. All I know is its running great ( for now).
