I run BP, 93 octane. Because I have a BP card for 5% discount, and have a BP very close to home. Never had a problem.

I used Shell v-power nitro. If not I always use another good grade. Just a habit for all the luxury vehicles I've owned.

*sigh*, If only BP wasn't more than 5% more expensive...

I'll keep my pregular gas @ 5c off per gallon, 2% rebate from SC and 5% cash back on top of that from Barclaycard. 🐊

It's not, in my area. Competitive with all other name brands.

You say "my car runs smoother on specific brand gasoline over another"? I say it's all in your head!
Maybe I should eat my words because I came across this report that AAA finds brand name gasoline is much better than generic Whether or not a car drives better on branded gasoline, it definitely appears to be beneficial for the engine.

What can I say, I was skeptical that brand name mattered . That thread pre-dated my joining CL so never saw it. Your posts are very helpful. Thank you!

The list of gas stations selling Top Tier gasoline is actually quite long (http://www.toptiergas.com/retailers/), and it includes the places where I usually fill up (Breaktime, QuikTrip, Phillips66). They are just not some of the famous names. Still, from now on, I will probably pay more attention to where I fill up.

On another note, although a 10% ethanol blend is approved by Lexus for the LS, I am wondering if I should try to use gas without ethanol. That might be more challenging in the midwest, especially Missouri and Iowa, my predominant travel region.

Chevron is the best imo. Techron works really well. And while you can buy the additive, using Chevron has it in every tank, meaning there's a constant stream of the stuff on your valves and anywhere else carbon might build up.

One important aspect is that it's much easier to keep carbon at bay then to try and get rid of it. That's why I always use it, all the time. Once there's a lot of build up, no amount of additives will do much.

Interesting Costco is on the list but BJ's isn't, unless they go by a different name. I used to mostly fill up at BJ's because I had their membership and they were the least expensive but they just built a Costco right behind the BJ's so now I fill up at Costco and it's the same price as BJ's.

THIS!!! LOL. Everyone teases me about how cheap I am and always looking for "deals" yet have nice toys. My response was that perhaps I have these things BECAUSE I'm cheap.

I'm considered cheap too. Especially by my wife. I'll come into the house, and on the way to the bedroom I'll turn off 18 lights (not 18 switches, but maybe 5 or 6 switches, most with multiple bulbs, but I count the bulbs), I'll turn off a TV and X-Box and a bathroom fan that nobody is near, noone is using. There's a (cartoon) commercial with a bunch of hogs running rampant in a house and every light in the house is on. The hogs are called "Power Hogs." That's my family. But I've compared my power bill to my M5 buddy ... I don't even compare to his energy bills.

My wife could leave the house at night on a 2 week vacation, look back and see the house glowing like the sun from every light being on, and not give it a 2nd thought. Drives me nuts. Her mother and grandmother leave lights on everywhere ... including in closets when the closet doors are closed! It's too much of a hassle for them to flip a switch. So I guess that kind of *^#* is ingrained.

But I do have 5 cars, a motorcycle, golf cart and ATV ... so yes, I do like my toys.
