from what I'm told the hot climate states kills these batteries. They want $2900 shipped to my door with $1000 core charge. Then I have to find someone to install it. Idk, its iffy

That sucks

I have seen a few LS600hl's for sale for some pretty low prices and I suspect they had battery issues to be selling for the lower then expected price.

Can the LS600 be driven without the battery if it fails?

if it completely fails it will not drive or start i've been told. I love the car for its rarity and power but I hate the fact that repairs are so costly and its value is so low.

Did you talk to the shop in Maryland or Memphis? I suppose my cost is cheaper because I live near Memphis .Whats your decision?

Yea, $2900 shipped plus a core charge of $1000. I send my old one back. And i have to find someone to remove and install. At this point imma ride it out for now. But i hope i have enough saved up when it does fail to either replace or move on to something better.

Ok hope everything works out. I doubt you will find a car that can compete with ls 600hl. Don't know the condition of your car the cost of a battery is money well spent. I'd keep it I'm just saying

On a scale from 1-10 my car is a 8-9. Its really really clean. I've seen lower mileage Ls's with conditions no way near. Its a real hard toss up. And thanks me as well

Figures it was designed that the car becomes inoperable if the hybrid battery goes.

Yea but at least its a high voltage system compared to many others. Thats y i think the battery hasn't completely failed as yet. I dont drive it but to work and around town. I havent taken it on a road trip in a few months. I dont plan to either.
