A tear this long should be repaired by a pro...... I don't know where you live in NY but here is repair guy in NJ (just off route 80) that can do it for you. www.platinumcareleather.com OR www.wecanfixthat.com for a shop in your local area. You can always replace the seat cover at a high cost but a 1" tear is an easy fix that can be done by a pro. I do NOT suggest buying a "As Seen on TV" leather repair kit and doing it yourself especially on a seat that gets used everyday. Check with some detailers in your area and see if they can help you if you have a hard time finding a leather repair pro.
TIP! Get the done ASAP while the cut is "fresh" and before it grows.

I've seen this done on some car programs on TV. Seems the outcome looks pretty good when done professionally and is almost invisible. A good shop is key IMHO.

I feel your pain. I am unhappy about the crack in my driver side door arm rest. It's getting bigger and I need to stop the bleeding. I'm sure your dealer will recommend someone.

Can't speak to repair quality, but color-matching is a nightmare with this kit. You can get close, but for all the effort, I would go the professional route all the way.

Indeed it is, Randy. I learned this while trying to touch-up a tiny spot inside my car.

I wouldn't mess with this on a $50,000 car........... I tried a similar kit on and old chair - what a mess it made!

Had a spot on the front passenger seat and had it done professionally where they removed the old panel with a replacement and color matched it. Expensive ($650) but worth it.....

The perforated leather pattern needs to match as well..... Looks brand new.....

THIS! ^^^^^^^ BEST advice for a flawless repair........ Especially on a "high end" car like a LS.

I agree...and you can get it done for much cheaper. I'd expect to pay between $150-$200. Where exactly is the tear? Any pics?

Leave this one to the professionals. Even if it's a few hundred dollars.
