Default Non-OEM "Upgrade" aluminum thermostat housing - Good idea or nah ?

I'm planning a coolant change soon in my 2017 LS 460. Part of the reason is because I noticed some evidence of coolant leakage on the lower radiator hose; so once I drain the coolant, I'm changing the upper and lower rad hoses (that Lexus calls "Hose 1 and Hose 2"), plus thermostat and housing.

I searched OEM thermostat + housing replacement parts, and during the search this metal housing came up on PartsGeek. It's aluminum which they call an "upgrade" over the plastic one (which honestly seems like a reasonable enough claim to make).

My question is has anybody replaced their thermostat housing with something like this? And were there any issues afterwards? But even if you have never used or even seen this metal housing before, does it seem like a good idea to replace the OEM one with it? All opinions are welcome.

I'd say don't fix it if it is not broken. The fact that that housing is made out of metal doesn't automatically mean that it is any better quality than the OEM. Just in case if you still looking for it, here's the OEM part https://parts.lexus.com/p/Lexus_2017...60310S010.html

Go OEM unless you can't get it. Also make sure where you buy it from includes a gasket and if not add it to your cart.

Thanks for the good replies everybody, I was also curious about something - it seems like about half the listings for buying a thermostat, want to sell you the housing included too - does this mean you are supposed to change the housing when you change the thermostat?
