Default Took the LS460 on its first road trip

Thought I'd share. Just got back from a family trip to the beach, first road trip for the LS.

We have 5 month old twins and were traveling with my mother as well. No, we did not all fit in the LS lol. We found that without a rack and a carrier for the top of our Kia Sedona minivan we could not fit 3 adults and two infants in the van with all of our stuff, so we actually took both cars.

Added bonus, I got to drive alone in the LS while my wife and mother drove in the van with the screaming babies. Daddy win LOL

The LS ran great, incredibly comfortable and quiet...I kept having to slow down forgetting they were following me in the van. Air conditioning works great, cooled seats work great (although not as great as in that Sedona). A highway trip is where the LS really excels over the GS I had previously. Not a real long trip, 150 miles each way.

Very happy with the car. When we got there I got out and stretched, very relaxed. My poor mother spent most of the trip turned around in the front seat of the van trying to calm the twins down LOL

Only issue was leaving it parked outside all week. I actually ordered a custom sunshade and had it shipped to the hotel since we decided to take both cars so suddenly lol, arrived the day we got there. We had a HUGE storm yesterday (got home today), horrible wind, torrential rain and hail. LS was fine though...suffice it to say I wasn't a happy camper.

The LS 460 is so smooth and comfortable. I made 800 miles road trip to Atlanta and I enjoyed every mile of the trip. The LS 460 is remarkable and I hope more road trips are in your plans.

See, that's where you went wrong. The twins should have been in your car. They would have slept like ....... well ....... babies!

Great story. I actually believe the ride is so smooth it makes the journey so much better. Our 1100 mile round trip to Chicago back in April was incredibly nice.

See, I would have gotten stuck with that except we just bought them convertible car seats and they are too hard to transfer

Agreed. I purchased an 08 earlier this week on Monday and drove it home 2200 miles from Dallas to Seattle. I was so pleased to drive it home as it was spacious enough for me to sleep in as well as comfortable for the 36 hour drive (including stops). Although, my amp went out 7 hours into the trip, right before the Oklahoma border. Gladly I've been lurking the forum for quite some time and read a thread about pulling the amp fuse so I didn't have to listen to that annoying clicking the whole way home.

There was also a guy at the dealer the same day purchasing a corvette and intended to drive back 24 hours to Boise, Idaho. I can't imagine how that was.

Rosalitop, welcome to CL. Please feel free to start your own thread to introduce yourself and post some pics of the car.

Congrats on your new car and I wish you good luck with it. Sorry to hear the amp went out on you already. I hope you can get it the seller to make some accommodation.
