Federal law stipulates octane level to match or exceed advertised number at the pump and on extreme weather places to have additives to stabilize the fuel (freezes in gas lines or vaporizes etc).

Another interesting point is, good time to pump gasoline is in the morning hours (or when ever temperature is low). Fuel expands due to temperature. Pumping during hot afternoon will result less actual volume than what you see on the pump meter!. Volume difference due temperature variance are adjusted by systems during pipe transport and rack terminals but not at gas pumps!!!.
Wow, very cool info!

My dealer takes care of me all the time because of the relationship we have built. They also checked and confirmed my ECU had been updated without a charge. I would personally do it. I don't think you have anything to loose.
You are definitely right about Lexus and Toyota fixing things for free, and not cheap things either! But yup you have to go CORPORATE with your cries lol. I think it's a Japanese thing to keep peace and tranquility with their customers lol.

Contacting "Corporate" is a crap shoot. Here in the Southeast, we used to have a regional customer experience rep in Torrance who wouldn't do anything for customers, while folks in other regions got the red carpet treatment. Nothing to do with Japanese - it's who you get (they are all American). My local dealer is just as bad!

What a difference from when I got my first two Lexus in the 1990s - dealers, Lexus Corporate, nothing was too much to ask.
