just to shed some light on the topic, i live in Alberta and we expect ALOT of snow each winter, this car has been by far one of the better cars i have driven in winter and the tires i have are pirelli C7's meaning all seasons. i never got stuck even in the harshest conditions and my LS is an 2007 LS460L RWD. all i do is basically put ride height on in the car and place the car in snow mode as well as comfort and I'm set. never break traction because the car does so well that when i try to purposely break traction, the computer kicks in and doesn't allow me too and my traction control never fully turns off.

This may sound a little childish but when I had my LS460L I purposely messed around in the snow when there were no cars around so I could get more comfortable and a better feel of the car in the snow. What I found was that the traction control in the car is very very good. I was used to FWD cars. The only other rear wheel drive car I had was an S2000 but that never saw winter. What I found with the car is when the back end does slip a bit the traction control would kick in and where the nose was pointing the car would straighten out itself. Mind you I had a good set of snow tires on my car.

I had the same problem as well last year in my LS460L ... I slid all the way home, it was scary!! These cars do horrible in these conditions ... I have an A8L now and I can do 70 in 2 inches of snow and not lose a single ounce of traction. lol

It doesn't make you a bad driver because you're cautious. That makes you a Smart driver!

Glad that you made it home safely!
