Hi guys, just wanted to let you know that we have a Black Friday / Cyber Monday deal on the Carista OBD2 adapter - get 25% off today through Monday! https://goo.gl/PhRpZV
Carista- for an '08 Ls, will your app allow a 3 blink setting for the turn signal? Thanks.
Unless they've changed something in the last year or so, it's not an option. I wish it were, as this is one thing I miss from my former 7 series BMW. Even older Dodge Caravans do this.

I actually just deleted this from my Amazon list when I see that the software is an annual subscription..... Buying the device and a one time license fee is one thing, but an annuity revenue fee for something used so infrequently is a model I could not get into....
Good news everyone! We have updated our pricing to include a free 1-month trial of the Pro subscription if you use the official Carista adapter... which by the way is on sale right now on Amazon at 25% off ($29.99).
About controlling the ride height: we haven't gotten around to researching that yet, but it's still on our list and should be able to get to it in early 2017.

An annual fee?? I wasn't aware of that..
Waste of $$, especially as you clearly stated, for something used so infrequently.
Pass.
Guys, you also have an option NOT to use a yearly subscription; we have 1-week passes available at $9.99 USD, which are a good option if you use the app very infrequently. We also have a 1-month free trial if you have the official Carista adapter, so you can basically just buy the hardware, set all the customizations the way you want them during the free trial and then never pay for anything again... unless you change your mind about the settings in the future or need diagnostics. At which point you can get a 1-week pass at $9.99.
In all cases, our price is much lower than a single visit to a dealer or pretty much any other option out there. But of course, everyone is free to decide for themselves.

If you consider the Carista deal carefully, it is pretty darn good. Last July before Carista went to the subscription model, I bought the "lifetime subscription" app for $20 and spent another $40 on the Carista OBDII adaptor. Now, you can get just the Carista adaptor ($30) and have a full month free to make any customizations you want. So, you can get all the customizations you want (and experiment with the settings for 1 month) by spending only $30 instead of the $60 I spent. Unless your dealer provides this service for free, you will have to spend $75-100 to customize the settings. I changed my settings last summer and haven't messed with it since, so I think you are getting a great deal with the free trial period. If you decide to change settings sometime in the future, you will have to spend only $9.99 for the weekly pass. IMO, the annual subscription is not targeted at folks like us, but more at folks running an independent repair shop etc.
Although it is not stated, I am pretty sure the Carista app will still work with the OBD adaptor to read error codes etc. without the annual subscription. And this feature will work for a large number of different vehicles, not just Lexus.
Annual subscription kills it for me. I was thinking about buying it just to play around but there are no setting I really need to change. Wish I knew about the lifetime subscription comotiger mentioned. Carista should bring that back for those on the fence.

You don't need an annual subscription to use all of the functions in the Carista Pro app during the one month free trial period. Unless you already have a 3rd party OBDII adaptor, you would have to buy one anyways to use with the App. If you buy the Carista adaptor, it communicates by bluetooth with the App, and you can play around with the Carista Pro for free for 1 month. Am I missing something?
The "lifetime subscription" was their previous sales model when you could get the Carista Pro app for $20, and that offer ended in July. I played around with the App for several days (within a month of purchase) and I haven't used it since. I am also not a fan of the annual subscription model, but in this case, you don't need one, and you can come out ahead ($) by taking advantage of their free trial period.
