I have been a loyal Lexus customer for about 9 years now. Started out with a 2006 GS 300, then bought a 2011 RX350. Last year traded the GS 300 for a 2013 GS 350. Well, the bug bit again this week and I picked up a 2014 LS 460 yesterday. I traded the 2011 RX 350. The surprising news was I got a great deal on it and I really thought I was going to get cleaned. Given there is only one Lexus dealer here they control the sales process. That said, I was very happy with the result and I'm quite happy with my Liquid Platinum, black interior, with Bamboo trim. I look forward to chatting with you folks in the future. Aloha, Tim

Congrats!

I'm interested in your thoughts vs your 2013 GS350, as that may be an upgrade I make next year.

SW13GS, the GS350 is a sweet ride. As you know it is very peppy and comes pretty much with all the bells and whistles. I've only had the LS a day, but the ride is smoother and quieter. Not that the GS is loud, its not. The LS is just really quiet. The transmission shifts almost undetectable through 8 gears. It is really smooth. You definitely feel the bigger size, but not that its distracting or anything. I should have bought the LS last year instead of the GS as it was the LS I wanted all along. I finally caved and spent the coin for the LS. I don't regret the GS 350 at all, my wife drives it now. So we both have great rides. I would imagine the F sport version would replicate the GS better and have the sportier profile and ride.

I'm happy with the LS for sure.

Cheers, Tim

Just One Problem
Chieftd

Congrats on the new ride. We will be back on island on the 13th of January. Just one problem that I see. You will never get to experience that pure joy of a very long, smooth quiet drive. I have found that the LS is at it's best in hours 2 through 6 on a 400 mile cross country drive for coffee or a 160 mile round trip for lunch with the ipod plugged into the ML playing jazz. The long uphill on H2 going out to Hale' iwa for shave ice may be the best you can do. Sweet ride enjoy.

Dennis, you are correct there are no long open road drives here. Perhaps H-3 to Kailua or H-2 to North Shore is about it. Maybe get out in the wee hours of the morning and drive H-1 to the east end, should be able to get decent gas mileage for a short time. Enjoy your stay when you visit. I love it here, been here 15 years now. Aloha, Tim

Tim

We have spent the winters every year since 2001. We spend 2 - 4 months depending on what is going on in our lives. Our oldest son has lived there since Apr 1986. We live on our 42' sailboat that we keep in Pearl Harbor
