Does your HDD play the same set of songs in random mode?

 

Not that I'm aware of. I'll have to check.

 

HDD plays all the songs at random that stored on the hard drive.

 

If I have it in genre it will play the same songs in the same order each time. I have 13 albums on the system and I'd like to hear random songs from all of the albums. Album and artist mode will not do it only genre mode.

 

iPod, Songs, Random = bliss.

True, but at 10k+ songs, deja vu is occasional, if ever. Bought an iPod on the bay once, and it had over 70k songs. Getting into a rut there would really be a challenge.

P.S. I don't mean to make light of your complaint. Why they couldn't use the current time to set the seed mystifies me. They could have used current second to get 60 different song orders. With minutes, 3600. And so on.
