Default '08 LS460 OTD for 29,500

I've got quite the dilemma...

I REALLY want this car but am not sure if I'm getting solid value out of it. It's got 68k miles on it and is pretty friggin clean. 2 owner car, 1st was a lease, clean title and all of the maintenance was done at lexus dealership. I'd be trading in my '08 Scion tC for $4,500 so the truth is, out the door, I'd be paying 25k. I've seen a few similar cars for 26k/27k etc. but after tax, registration etc.I end up at about the same place no?

Whadya all think? I really respect this board's members and need some insight here.

Thanks in advance,

olsk

Seems to be a good buy. Mine is 2007 (purchased new) with 43K miles and I was offered $32K but didn't sell, car is too good and totally problem free for me to let it go. Lowest cost of ownership car I have ever had. 68K miles is nothing for those V8s. They'll go over 200K easy.

You didn't mention options but if you REALLY want it don't let it pass you by. Taxes, registration, fees, etc. comes with buying a vehicle. Lexus is known for its reliability, dependability, durability and the pursuit of perfection.

Hi. I have had my 08 LS460 a week. I bought it out of state so I haven't paid taxes. Waiting for the title. But the bottom line transaction with trade was several grand less than what you mention. Mine has 52,300 miles as of today. It's pretty loaded but no ML system. I'm using the MP3 option and satellite and enjoying the sound.

At the end of the day, it's really up to you and what your comfort level for cash will be. They are great cars and I am really enjoying the ride. Good luck.

That price actually sounds a bit high. I just bought an 07 LS460 base model last week for $23,250 with 68K miles - no trade in. It was a one owner and was in excellent condition except for the front rotors which I replaced at a cost of $300 (did it myself). It did not have the ML system but has all of the others bells and whistles you typically find in the base model. That said, I usually pay a lot less because I'm willing to travel to bring the car back home. That allows me to go where the best prices are. When I bought my GS400 I flew to Chicago to drive it home to Nevada.

I would go with an 09 and up unless the valve spring recall has been done and even then. They are more reliable.

Thanks for all the responses everyone! I decided (based partly on the info in this awesome forum) to pass up the deal. I'll wait patiently and keep my ear to the rail for a better deal. Hopefully I won't have to fly to Chicago for mine.

Cheers and thanks again for all the input!
