For the money it's much better to get Techstream
I disagree. I have the Techstream software and am having issues with loading onto any Laptop as the software requires 32 bit OS. Hard to find nowadays.

Depends on the version you get. There are 64 bit drivers out there. I have no problems but some do. I need the full functionality. I just emulate Windows 7 on my MBP and it works great.

Check this out. Personally, I just installed Windows 7 32 bit via parallels but this may help.

There may be other tutorials out there too. Just search on Google.

Thanks for the links....

I tried again and no luck. Trying to install the software on my Windows 7 computer and I keep getting, "cyclic redundancy check" error. This seems to be a common issue on other forums, but haven't seen any work-arounds yet. I think I need XP to actually get the software to install, let alone get the software to work afterwards.

Think I'll stick with my Carista app and ELM module. No drama, no fuss and easy to use.

That's NOT the problem, I WANT to have DRL !! :-) ... mine was sold new in Switzerland and the car don't have DRL as an option from the factory.... (I don't know if Lexus Norway's sold LS 2008 even have DRL...only sold 5-6 a year here....(My cost new here in 2008 well over US$ 320.000 (LS600hL) ).

I really want to get DRL on mine..on my workshop in Germany they tell me that they can't fint the option at all when they connect the Techstream ...any other way possible ??, would really prefer using the original LED lights ....maybe just output 50% light at day and let the automatic light control (which is installed) to regulate it between DRL/nighttime use???

And I have the Carista app and very happy with that....but still no available DRL on/off function found....

Update: Carista can now turn off your seat belt warning, if you're so inclined

(stay safe though!)

EXCELLENT. This is a great improvement. The seatbelt nag is one of the worst.

Great. Now, just the seat/steering wheel retract and, oh yes, THE IPHONE VERSION!

Yup, the iPhone version is making progress, but it's still gonna be a while before it's ready. We just started working on it actively a few weeks ago.

Seat retract settings are already available in the app. Steering wheel retract is not because it's a weird setting from a technical perspective and will require custom logic. Don't know when we'll have that implemented.
