Talking About to order a 2014 LS 460 F-Sport

Nice car, Just couldn't buy a 2014 Hyundai Equus Ultimate Edition for 65 K. Local Lexus dealer said he would order a Lexus LS 460 F-Sport for 1K over invoice, not a bad deal.

Obsidian Black

LS F-Sport Package
Mark Levinson® Reference Surround Sound Audio System
Comfort Package
All weather package
F SPORT heated steering wheel
Blind Spot Monitor
Advanced pre-collision system
LED headlamps
If available, Remote Start
Carpet Trunk mat
IF available, All season tires

What am I forgetting? Would get AWD, but I lose almost 30 hp.

Thanks

Default 2014 LS Order

You really do not need the 30 horsepower!. I know some people do not like the AWD, but I am on my third AWD vehicle. The performance in wet/snow/slush on roadway outweighs the 30 horsepower you lose. If you are looking for a faster car there are better choices. The difference in 0-60 speed is only a couple of tenths of a second. This is a luxury car. You should not need to let your final decision be based on the 30 horsepower. You can buy a Lexus LS460 Sport, and the horsepower and speed is the same as the base LS460. You get a sportier looking car and a car that does not ride as smooth.

i actually test drove the LS460 F Sport and it drives very smooth, even when driving in S+ mode. same limited 130 MPH. but it does look a little sportier, and it should ride smoother because of the air suspension as opposed to the base coil springs. i like them both, but chose the AWD non F-Sport 460. best car i've ever owned.

I get how it's a luxury car and all, but the MB S550 does 0-60 in 4.8 secs while the LS460 does it in 5.4 and AWD makes it 6.0 secs. AWD also makes the car 300 pounds heavier. But it you have aggressive winters where you live, you should probably get the AWD.

If you don't plan on driving the LS in the snow I would pass on the AWD model. The more power the better.

Are you getting the longer wheel base version or the regular LS460?

You can only get the F-Sport in Regular LS460 not LS460 L.

I own a 2001 F-150 Lightning with Built motor and Whipple blower that is fast and a 2007 F-250 6.0 L Diesel Crew Cab Lariat Outlaw edition modded that is fast. I want to buy something that is stock and not mess with it. lol

Valley101, sydtoosic,
I really like AWD. I just sold my 12 Range Rover Sport V-8 S/C that I had for a year. It was my first AWD vehicle and I loved it. Just had some electronic software issues I didn't like, but overall a very nice vehicle. I hate giving up the HP coming out of a 510 hp S/C vehicle. If I lived in the cold, I wouldn't care about the 30 hp loss, I would buy an L with AWD.

I work and live in the South and if my job takes me to colder weather in the future, I plan on driving my F-250 and leave the Lexus in the South. lol

Did anyone get their LS 460 with the Pre-Collision option? Do you like it?

0-60 mph times aren't bad, but 1/4-Mile Acceleration is:

13.4 seconds, LS 460
14.2 seconds, LS 460 AWD

AWD is 8/10 sec slower.

I would never buy another new car without it.

And I agree with KiraX, if you don't need the AWD, don't get it.

I did and it has saved my butt once since I got it. When I approached a car in front of me a little too fast, it yanked up on the seatbelt and applied the brakes much harder for me.

I'd get it again. Also the Radar cruise that comes with the system is great for long trips.

Talking

Thanks

Dealer called me today and said he would be placing order in a few days. He said he would have to special order the car with pre-collision and said delivery will be in December.
I told him I can wait to get the car like I want.

I have it and it works well for the most part but there is one expansion joint near me that it activates for some reason. Funny thing is someone with a '13 LS had Lexus buy his car back because his was activating erroneously in the same place mine was and they ordered him a replacement car without it. This is probably an isolated incident and it has never activated erroneously besides this spot so I would say it is probably worth it to have it.

Hopefully they have corrected that issue on the 2014's. lol

I drive all over the East coast. I hope it doesn't act up.

I think that's an anomaly, mine has never done that. In fact I am constantly amazed at how precisely the system works.
