Not to hijack the thread, but yeah... here in Canada where they sell a VERY low volume ( http://www.goodcarbadcar.net/2011/01...s-figures.html ), you have to teach the tech rep about the LS issues. Both on my 2009 and 2012, every weird issue I got, I had to tell them what to do. Of course, they argued and fought until they realized I was right all along. Now they (most of the time) listen to me and go check directly what I tell them to check!!

After reading this thread went to my car and removed them. Easy to remove, seat up and forward ,reach under seat (you can feel them no need look) turn filter and they will release. Mine have never been changed. New ones on order
I just cleaned the filters. I soaked each filter in Oxi-Clean spray liquid for 5 minutes, then blew dry with compressed air. In addition to moving the seat all the way up and forward, first unhook the floormats and fold forward to allow easier access. Remember to re-hook them securely after reinstalling the filters.
Randomly came across this tread as I was curious about the cooled seats that are always turned on. Does the air blow out of the perforations on in through the seats?
I was able to order a replacement filter (my passenger side wasn't dirty at all) from Hendrick Lexus of Charlotte for around $20. Steep yes, but what are you gonna do!
ALL the parts for these cars are "steep" compared to other manufacturers...... The joy of owning a luxury car!

Thanks to the OP who made this DIY. This was super easy to do and both of mine were dirty, the driver one was much more than the passenger one. I didn't want to be the guinea pig but there is an aftermarket brand that makes these. I opted for the Toyota made ones.
Are these filters on just the older models or do they exist on the 2013+ models as well. I thought I read something about the older models being cabin air (thus the filter under the seat) with newer models being plumbed into the AC system directly. It would make sense that mine (2013) is plumbed in as my seat air definitely feels like AC right from the start while the car interior is still cooling. I could be mistaken.
In any case, I went looking for them on my car and I can't see anything that resembles them under there. Could be that I'm just not looking at it right.

Yes, the 2013+ models have them; I just replaced mine last week.
I looked under the seats and could not see them. In order to replace them I had to move the seats as forward and as high as they would go. From the front, I felt around under the seat and could feel the filter but could not actually see it. A slight turn and it popped right off. I popped the new ones in their places. Be certain that it's secured properly or it will fall out.
