Default 1st lexus

hello all i'm new to lexus as well as the forum, i bought a 2010 lexus ls460l awd with about 80,00 miles on it and also bought a warranty for 3 year/ 36,000 miles. After having the car for a couple of days i noticed things that i didnt like as well as figured werent normal, alot of it had to do with noises, the dealer told me they didnt cover noises lol, and i asked if those noises meant something was wrong then what?? it was mostly squeaks and rattles that i didnt expect to hear in a car of this caliber, going over uneven road there's a constant squeak coming from the front, if its a bump its an extremely hard thump in the rear, and the idle.....is BY FAR the loudest I've ever heard in any car that I've been in. when i turned the wheel all the way in either direction and pressed the gas, it made a rubbing noise with a harsh vibration, brakes squeak horribly about 2 days out of the week for about an hour then it goes away. When i took it in they said everything was fine except a part on the rear struts and said they needed some special oil for the vibrating rubbing issue. Picked up the car and noticed the vibrating issue was resolved but during the drive home noticed everything else stayed the same, has anybody else had these experiences? is this considered normal? any feedback would be greatly appreciated, thank you

I'm not familiar with the law in NY, but in MD you can take the car back within a certain period and get your money back. If you can, I would definitely do that and look for a different car to purchase.

Sorry to hear you are having all these problems. Sounds like you may have a suspension problem. Do you have air suspension? Also, have you asked to see the service history?

80,000 miles are not a lot for this car, but they are a lot of miles in such a short period. The previous owner may have abused it. Was it a lease vehicle?

At any rate, welcome to the Club!

well i actually bought the car in ct so i need to check the laws there and yes the vehicle was leased so i suppose it probably was abused, the service records look clean though, and i just figured it had to be a ton of highway miles which obviously isn't as bad as city. im assuming you guys are saying that the behavior isnt normal, so how should the deaker be responding to the issues?

Your NY dealer is absolutely correct. Noises and rattles are not covered by CPO or extended warranty. If you can, take it back to the dealer where the car was purchased and ask them to rectify all of the issues. As far as your suspension issues... they are definitely covered by the warranty and should be addressed for free. Brakes making occasional noise is a different story. It may just need new pads and rotated rotors. 2010 is still almost a brand new car. I'm very surprised you're having all of these issues. Good luck.
