scrathched up by bumper badly on my ls460
i was going up a steep ramp comming out of an underground parking gharage and scraped a brick wall durning the turn, here is what happened. luckily i know a few people through my car audio shop and im getting it fixed now (next day after it happend) the scratches were deep! so here is a few pics of before and ill post finished project pics after its painted. repair cost from my friend was $125
once i post final pics let me know how it looks. my buddy is a professional painter for a living and gratiously made time the next day for me to do the repairs in my shop. http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/v...pse10214ab.jpg http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/v...psfac83598.jpg http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/v...ps3396ce50.jpg http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/v...ps6a50c7aa.jpg http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/v...psa469771c.jpg |

I've always thought they have to repaint the whole bumper or else it wouldn't match, let us know how it turns out.

he repaired the scratched up section with resin and filler and then scuffed up the entire bumper so he can shoot the whole bumper with clear a few times. final result comming in an hour or so. stay tuned........

Thats a pretty quick turn around. You were lucky that you didnt get the fog lens or the sonar sensor. That wouldve set you back a bit. The guy that sprayed my roof and trunk spoiler told me the same thing about being able to blend it in and he pulled it off.
I see that you have LEDs tucked under the top part of the "air intake" area. Have any pics as to how that looks? I'd thought about doing something similar but didnt know how it would have turned out. |
Your guy def has skills and came out very nice!

Well played sir. It's always good to have a good paint guy, dent guy, and leather guy. As important as a mechanic you can trust.

Very nice work, will come handy as a ref in case anyone else needs this type of repair --thanks for sharing!
