How long did your LS battery last?

Got an unpleasant early Christmas present from my LS….my car's battery went south for the winter. After failing to start the car in my garage, and then charging it overnight, it will only hold about a 60% charge. It is the original battery from my October 2009 AWD.

That means it lasted 38 months. I would assume that it is covered under warranty. Right? I have less than 50K miles.

I am thinking of replacing it myself today since the dealer is closed and I really dont want to go to the dealer tomorrow on Christmas eve. $82 for the battery at Advance Auto. I wonder if Lexus would reimburse me?

38 Months? Sad.

Yes it's covered under warranty and Lexus will come to your garage to change it at N/C. Just call your dealer or Lexus Roadside Assistance (800) 255-3987 opt 1

Thanks. Great advice. Didn't think about Lexus Roadside Assistance.

The battery in my 2007 LS (October 2006) never needed replacement. I traded the car in November of 2011. The battery in the 2004 ES was changed after five years.

Mine quit exactly at the 6 year mark. Replaced, no issues. All back to normal.

I have a LS600h and it has a "special" battery (has a relief vent and a temp sensor). It died out about 3 years and was covered under the standard warranty.

i just replaced mine after only 17 months. In AZ your lucky if you can get 3 years generally

Florida is like AZ, 3 years is about all you get on a battery - the high heat takes its toll.

I replaced mine even though it had no issues after 5 years. In a cold winter climate no sense pushing your luck.
