Default Ls460 2010 engine ticking noise ?

MY Ls460 2010 AWD is making annoying ticking noise since I bought it 2 months ago ( 76k milage ) , it seems that the sound is mainly coming under the hood on right front fender side .

I have ready many threads about this issue ,but couldn't get the idea if it is common ? did any body get it fixed ?

help

Default Ticking Noise

Sounds like it is coming from the "direct injection" fuel system. Mine is a 2012 and it makes the ticking noise. Other Lexus vehicles in the later models all seem to have the same noise from the direct injection.

Assuming you were not aware, Lexus had a recall to rework the engine valves. I took my 2008 LS460 in (bought it pre-owned at 26k miles) to Park Place Lexus (Grapevine, TX) a couple of months ago right after I bought the car and they fixed it under warranty (the dealer where the car was first sold in St Louis did a terrible job correcting the valve problem despite the previous owner's complaint of hearing ticking noises). All quiet now and I am pleased with the work. You should still be able to take it in under the powertrain warranty.

I think that the recall of engine valves is only for 2007-2009 , not for 2010+ , am I right ?

Default Engine ticking noise

Yes, it only applied through 2009. Had a 2010 and no problem. Have a 2012 now, no problem, but still have the ticking noise as it is the direct injection fuel system.
