Default Blower Running While AC Switch is Off, LS460, 2008

I've recently noticed that my car (2008 LS460), upon start up and with the AC switch being off, the blower (sounds like it) runs at Low speed. Not sure if after a car wash, and/or having the bumper covers removed (being touched up) had anything to cause the concern. Another observation is, when I put the car in reverse ("R", backing up), the blower remains running; however, when the car is put in drive ("D") and driven forward slowly for a short distance (up into the garage), the blower shuts off but then slowly comes back on. Appreciate any help from the Forum. Thanks!

can you feel air blowing out at idle (stand-still) or do you only feel it while moving?

I haven't taken it on the road (bumpers being touched up) but from the little experience, the blower appears to be running at "Low" and when idled, in reverse; i.e., when moving forward, it appears to stop then start again when the speed slows down (brake is applied slowly). I've done some googling and supposedly in a Chevrolet (by all means, not even remotely an entry level Lexus), the blower motor runs to evacuate the cabin humidity when idled; perhaps to make sure cabin air is not stagnated. I hope Lexus doesn't do this and allows the user to control the AC blower.

Thanks for all your inputs - I am new at Club Lexus Forums but very pleased with the help from the community. Thank you!

Check your seat coolers, they make some sound on their own.

Isn't there a fan for the nav screen and electronics behind dash? With a space shuttle setup, I expect some noise

Yes I would also recommend checking the seat cool to see if ey are on and if so does the noise go away when turned off.

I finally got a chance to act on Adamls2's recommendation to check the seats' cooling switches. Indeed the sources of fan noise come from the fans for the front seats (didn't know they have blowers and didn't think to pay attention to know when it's off (green light goes out).

Thanks to all for your help!
