Hey Helmar, long time since I've seen you post here! I think the last time was when you went cross country.

I don't think that rear camera will be a big issue. An easy guess is a faulty connection, most likely right at the camera itself. Let us know, and don't be a stranger, although it sounds like you may be leaving the family.

I've posted from time to time, but not as often. You may have missed them.

I'm doing another one this fall. Shipping my Lexus to Los Angeles mid October then driving back (this time the southern route), through Texas and New Orleans to Orlando, then taking the auto train to Washington, then driving back home.

I agree that the FIX should be easy, but like software (my bailiwick), an intermittent problem can be difficult to find.

No immediate plans to sell my LS, I just like to look. I'll probabily at least wait 'til the extended warrantee (100K miles) is nearly out before I consider it.

How are the LS600 holding up?

I am a long time LS owner (LS400, LS430 and SC300/400) and have quite a few Lexus cars. Currently daily driving a CT200 new and HATE it.

Been contemplating jumping into a 550 Manual new vs a LS600 used (I know cars are worlds apart). I wouldn't mind the LS460 L but the 600 seems more appealing.

In the used market, the price delta isn't that great between the 460 and 600. Any reason for that?

Appreciate your thoughts.

i haven't had any issues except for control arms, which 460 owners have issues with also. I have not heard of major issues with 600s at all, at least not on this forum

I just had my water pump replaced last week but it is not that common of a problem. It actually fell under the 70k powertrain warranty as opposed to the extended warranty.

My apologies. I have been member on this forum long enough to know to check the FAQ

For me the newer the better. Though I really like the new grille of the 14s. Not sure when that started. Might have to wait a bit to get t he new ones used...

If you want to wait you can catch the 2013's coming off lease in 2016.

Thanks for sharing the vids. 600 really looks good. Also the fact that you don't see them dime a dozen is cool too (living in LA)

I made the mistake previously (dating myself). Really wanted a SC300 and wanted the 97+ design change. But bought a 95 instead, and was never happy with it. In a years time, had to upgrade.

So I think I should do it right and get a off lease 2013 new upgrade....

Hopefully you guys don't mind me sticking around here and snooping the threads till then...
