The Michelin Tires that came on my new LS 460 AWD were date stamped as being manufactured 0410, which is the 4th week of 2010. My LS was built 4 months ago. I called Lexus corporate and told them I was not happy about this and they called me back as they stated they would and told me to take it back to the dealer this Friday and they would replace all the tires with a fresh manufacturing date. And I will be provided a loaner for the period of time it takes to accomplish this. The first time I have ever had to call about my Toyota products and it was a very smooth transaction. I have been driving Toyotas and Lexus products since 1978 for the Toyotas, and 1996 for the 3 Lexus products.

If I have any future problems I feel confident they will handled as well.

No, I do not believe the tires where swapped. They had zero wear on them and I know the sales manager and salesmen well enough to know this would not happen. Lexus corporate checked and matched the tires to the vehicle also, to make sure I was not pulling a fast one.

If you do about 10K miles per year you will be OK even if they don't change them. Certainly the tires were stored where they got no sunlight and not subjected to extreme temperatures.

I knew a guy with a classic Cadillac who had General tires that were 26 years old and they still looked good. Of course he only drove it a slow speeds.

My LS came with Pilot HX MXM4 235/50/18, a Grand Touring Tire. They replaced with Pilot HX MXM4 235/50/ZR18, also listed as a Grand Touring Tire by Tirerack. I have driven then 160 miles since Friday and I can not detected any difference in handling or road noise. I'll have to wait for rain to see how they hold up in the traction rating. The manufacturing date for these tires is 12th week, 2012. So definitely are fresh tires.
