Do shopping for LS460. Some dealers still have '11 model. What is advantage of getting '12 model?

I als found strange that hard to find a car with light interior.

 

The 2012 has white LED driving lights that the 2011 might not have. I never checked out the 2011. There's a new color for 2012, Nebula Gray.

 

Thanks, it isn't critical. although LED lights are still cool.

 

2010-present have LED driving lights.

What are "LED driving lights"? Are they on the exterior or interior of the car?

 

You must have seen the late model Audi's and Mercedes with the pattern of white LEDs below the headlights. The Audi's are mostly curved a bit.

 

So when the 2010-2012 LS is running, both these LED driving lights and DRL (9005 high beam bulb at reduced output) are on, or the LEDs replaced the high-beam-based DRL? Thanks.

 

LEDs replaced the DRL function of the 9005 bulb..wish I had those!!

 

Do these LED lights actually function as DRL for 2010-12 models? Can they be turned on/off?

 

The LEDs are not on if the light switch is in the first position on the 2012.

 

Thanks to this thread I just noticed the LED driving lights on my 2011.

On the 2011 in Canada at least (where DRL's are mandatory) the LED driving lights are clearly visible on the second position of the light control (first position being all off). Nothing else is on.

However in the fourth (Auto) position (which is what I normally use), because the DRL's are also on, you don't really notice the LED's but they are still on.
