Default Fuel injector cleaner. Whos poured it in?

I was out driving my brothers Escalade today and notice that it had a lot more power than the last time I'd driven it. When I asked him about it, he said that he poured a bottle of fuel injector cleaner in about 2 weeks ago but hadnt noticed any difference. We thought maybe it was because he drove it all the time. He let his wife drive it and she noticed the difference as well. I guess my question is, has anyone used it in their LS and have you notice any difference?

BTW, his truck has 57,XXX miles.

I use it but i dont notice anything or any changes in mpg. I use the Super STP in the black bottle. What brand did he use? I hear good results with Lucas I dont have any experience with them.

Default Fueld system cleaner-Chevron

I used the Chevron Tech Fuel System Cleaner (black bottle in both 16 Oz and 20 Oz ) on a Camry and it does make a difference-especially if you never had your injectors pro cleaned. I have not used it yet on this LS460L- i will when it reaches 30k. You have two options- Fuel system cleaner and Fuel Injector cleaner. The latter is less potent and less expensive- more for 'maintenace'.

He used Lucas since we use Lucas fuels on everything else except my LS. I was just curious to see if anyone had tried it. Picking some up this week.

Don't know why this was bumped four years later, but fuel cleaner is indeed junk. All you need to do is run quality fuel and you'll be fine. If you want to clean your injectors, bring them to a shop that cleans injectors. The injectors will be cleaned and flow-matched, thus they will work as well or better than stock.

Injectors are like a cat...they clean themselves. The directional spray pattern cleans the face of the injector. Take an injector out, you'll be shocked at how clean the injector will be.

Default When I First Got the LS

Right after we got the LS with 28,xxx miles on it I picked up 2 bottles of Chevron. We left on a 4,800 mile trip and I used the injector cleaner on the first 2 tanks. I thought the constant flow of the cleaner threw the injectors would do the best job. Have not used it since. Lexus of Tulsa did poor a bottle of injector cleaner in my 85 year old friends 2010 LS 460 with 25K on it when I took it over for service. She has more money then she knows what to do with but she runs mid-grade (89) fuel in it.

I occasionally use Chevron Techron Concentrate. It's widely known to be quality stuff. If you use a quality fuel that already contains a fuel additive, then I wouldn't bother, but that's not always the case for me, so every six months I'll throw a bottle in. It's cheap enough not to worry about whether there's any benefit or not.

Default Shell, Costco or Flying J

For the most part I only by fuel from my local Shell service station or at Costco if I am in Omaha. If I am out on the road I will fuel at Flying J/Pilot only. Never have had a problem with their 91/93 Octane fuels.

F. I. cleaners are a waste of $. My family has several F.I. cars with over 200k miles on them and they've never seen a bottle of cleaner. Such products were needed when electronic F.I. first came on the scene because oil companies did not put cleaner in their fuels. They started including it shortly thereafter and it's a no longer needed maintenance item for car owners.
