Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but I've searched and searched and can't find any information on this.

Are the red security lights on each side of the door always on? When the doors are open they just constantly blink, but when you lock the door they stay on. Only way to turn them off is to start the car. My mom swears it wasn't that before. Is it normal or something we should look into?

they blink almost all the time in any condition, just a different pulse, so yea I would say what your seeing is normal. They are never "off"

My lights blink continuously until you push the lock button on the remote or door. Then they stay on for 30 seconds and then begin blinking again. This is consistent with the owner's manual. If your lights remain on continuously after doors are locked, you might want to check all doors and trunk to see if they are, in fact, locked.
