Default Just Dropping By...Hello!

I left my LS 460 for a BMW 750i. Love the 2 brands for very different reasons and I'm sure I'll be back after this BMW presuming the LS continues to look as good as it does after the redesign in 2007. People in this forum are also so much more nicer and helpful...so hat's off to you all.

I almost bought an 08 7 series over my LS but decided to go with the familiar brand. The 7 series drive so nice. I loved it. Its always nice to drive a car made for tall people

Hi Henry...I wondered where you might be hanging out after you sold your LS (totally decked out!). What are you driving now?

Not much to say about the 750i...except I love it. If I had to say one thing I absolutely hate - it's a gas guzzler! (even has the tax for being a gas guzzler too at purchase). They haven't gone to the 8 gears like Lexus and that helps out with your mileage a whole bunch! The car is very, very heavy and it rides really nice and handles surprisingly well. The best thing I really appreciate (from when I had my 745i years ago) is that BMW finally changed up the interior and made it more luxury than sport. The new exterior design is much more sleek. Another welcome addition is the front grill has finally been enlarged to make it proportionate to the car. Strangely, just like when I purchased my 2004 745i (the controversial design) I didn't like either the 2004 745i back-end designs or the current 750i back end either. In time, after seeing them on the road, they both grew on me and I learned to like them both. The new 7 series is a very nice looking and comfortable vehicle. And from when I purchased the 2004 model, they have also raised the price significantly on these 7s as well. All of them have run-flats so I was expecting some road noise and a rougher ride, but neither were the case on the 7...in part, due to the weight of the car the ride is fine. Not much road noise, but more than what I recall on my LS (excluding the wind-noise issue). I presume Lexus has rectified that problem by now as my LS was a 2007 (the year of the redesign).

great review dave, really capture what the new 7 is about. i am ok with the 7 trunk now as well, after 7 years. i guess bangle was right, he said the 7 series was what the "future" would be. yup, now we like it. but i guess it's better to leave the future to the future

i also have to say bmw stepped up big time on their interior (7 and 5 series), much improved, a lot more details, better materials, and feels better too.

i am driving m3 now, but i guess soon suv -- we have a kid now

I can't tell from your comment if you are aware of "the rest of the story" regarding wind noise.

A solution for the wind noise that afflicted many of the 07s, and some of the 08-09 & 10s too, was devised as a DIY. As far as I can tell Lexus still has not come through with a fix.

Instructions for the DIY wind noise fix are here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...noise-fix.html
