Default How to remove headrest for LS460/L

hi guys, i don't know if this DIY has been post yet, but since i have my seats out of the car i was curious on how to remove the headrest.

Here is the view from the back of the seat. As you can see i circled in red the location of where the 2 philips screws beneath the carpet flap.

The carpet flap hold down by a plastic hook with elastic bands........ this take 1 second to remove.

Lift up the carpet flap and you will see the 2 philips screws.

Here is the back seat cover look like inside.

After you removed 2 philips screws, grad with both hand where green circle and pull down. Be careful when pull down the cover, because there is a connector that you will need to dis-connect.

Here you will see 2 wire-clips.............. remove it and the headrest can be pull out from top. The wire-clips is reusable and is easy to put it back.

I hope this write-up is helpful and if you have any question..............feel free to PM me.

I just saw this ..... and wanted others to be reminded of it. Incredibly great instructions. Well worth coping and "saving" for later. Nick2JZ should be highly complimented.

Thanks for the great instructions!!
I need to modify the passenger headrest in my LS460, as my wife has a neck spine problem and I have to move the headrest back about 4 inches. If it works out ok I will show what I did. I am waiting for new headrests to come in the mail, then the game will begin. If anyone has any ideas, it would be much appreciated.
This is my first post.. so hello..

Thak you! It was very helpful. Could you help me, please? I need information about the headrest connection because my active headrest on the driver side does not work.
Maybe there are a connector that I have to check or other electric component. Could you take picture from headrest connection.
