I took the plunge myself just last week and I have to say, Jerry Johnson couldn't have made it any easier or efficient. I was approaching 49,500 miles on my 08 LS460 and was on the fence about the warranty. A big reason I purchased the Lexus was reliability. I've owned 4 BMW's (3 7's and an 850) , 2 MB's (CL500, SL500), 3 Vette's, an Escalade, and 2 Lexus (Lx470 and GS350) plus a bunch of other random stuff. My wife has driven the 2 Lexus surrounding the Escalade and the ONLY cars that were truly dependable were the 2 Lexus we've had. The cost of ownership for the MB's was the highest of all the cars I've owned but STILL, when I was about to go out of warranty I fretted and fretted about whether to get the extended warranty. As expected, I just decided to do it and make it a non-issue. Buy it and be done with it. I have to admit, as soon as I received my paperwork in the mail, it was like some little worry weight was lifted off my shoulders and that problem was simply gone.

So...for peace of mind, $2K is not a lot of money to make the worry simply go away. I would spend that 10x over if it would work on my other challenges!!!

So, my recommendation is to buy the warranty, $2K, zero deductible, 100K miles = no worries.

If you sell the car will the new owner get the warranty?

Yes, it is transferable. I seem to remember reading that it was not transferable a second time though.

So which one is it? Transferable or not?

It's transferable one time to a private sale, not to a dealer trade.

Yes, it is transferable.

Transferable one time from the original new car owner to the next owner for a $50 processing fee. [Quoted directly from the Lexus web site]

It is transferable ONCE. You cannot transfer it a second time, nor a third, nor a .... well I hope you get the idea now.

This price will be beat by Jerry. I've done the DD and he is the one I will be going with. No one else matched or beat his price for an 8/75 plat warranty. The extras that come with the plat are very worthwhile.

I was just offered a 6 yr (beyond the Lexus 4=10) 75k extended warranty for just a shade more than Troy wants for the platinum 8/75 on my 08, LS460. It's bumper to bumper, any repair facility I choose. Has anyone heard of DriveTrust Warranties? They are backed by Enterprise Financial Services under the umbrella of American Security Ins. Co.

I would appreciate any info, as it sounds like a well managed co., on the BBB with no complaints, at a price that is excellent. Thanks for any help!!
