The OEM one will seem to spin on longer and get tighter as it goes.

So far no issues.
This might be worth the $10 cost to get the Dorman part. I really dislike the plastic housing. Thanks for sharing.

Are there any updates to exact part numbers for the OEM alternatives? Is our housing the same as the IS250? I know that the filter element is, and if that's the case for the housing, it's $100 for the LS and $60 for the IS. I want to stick with OEM since it's such an important part. I just changed my LS oil for the 1st time since I got it and I've never seen the plastic ones. I'm a little concerned about degradation over 10years so I'm thinking of getting a new one to replace it. Also, I forgot to put that clip back on at the end of the oil change. Is it critical?

I found this on RockAuto:

I just changed the oil in my 2012 last weekend and might have replaced it with this Dorman part as it's only $20. No, I do not have any experience with it.

This appears to be an aftermarket plastic part:

I haven't done an oil/filter change since installing this on 2/4/21, however, I have checked underneath and via dipstick (a few times at least), and all appears in good order. No leaking or loss of oil as far as I can tell thus far.
