Default Black Rims on a Black LS460 opinions

Hey everyone,

Been out of the "whats what" game when it comes to wheels, but now that I got my Lex Luthor 460, I can't decide on which way to go on wheels. Part of me tells me to just upgrade to the 19" touring wheel and be done with it.

Then I"ll see a nice black sedan like a S550 or 745 rollin on 22's black staggered's with chrome/stainless lips and it just looks hella mean to me!...

my question is, are the black wheels kinda played out at all? I know it comes down to personal choice, but just trying to see what folks think about that combo on a LS460 SWB

For my Atlanta people, do you get sweated by the po-po's more with the 22s at all? People have been telling me that they get that "DWDB" thing happening with their nice sedans on 22s......DWDB = "Driving While Dope Boy" profiling thing...I think that is silly but I got nothing to hide at all being in the military and all, but I don't need extra stops along the way. Chime in folks..thanks

imho, black wheels are so played out. and in fact i have never really liked them. took away a lot of the lines.

but at the same time, it's your car, do what YOU like

Here is my favorite black/black:

LS460 on 22's is nothing special. 24's is possible. However, nothing for grandpa, that's what the stock edition stands for with the easy to clean wheels while sitting in a wheelchair

The polished barrels and gloss centers looks nice. For some reason, when I think black, the matte look stuck...not a fan there. That Platiumn K-Break is

Black wheels are done.... so are spinners..try going left.. if everyone is going right.. try Hyper silver or graphite (20's or 22's) in a yr all two tone wheels will look dated.. to quote the legend Chip Foose.. do something timeless...

but it is your car.. Do what appeals to u

You should go with a matte black face with a black lip. Thats what they're doing these days...

I got matte black 22s on my car and I really like them but I have had some comment that it took the elegance of the car away. I don't know how to post pictures on the forums or I would. If u want I can email some pics or someone can help me figure out how to post pics and I will.

matte face black gloss barrel was my first color choice for wheels on my 460, i think if offset is correct almost anything can look good, but ya i think it will look dope.

The fad with all the fanboys doing black wheels has played out.
Now the people who really dig black wheels can wear them with out seeing another set on every other car.
Black wheels have been around a long time. I had a set of blackie's back in 1995....Enkei's with black center and machined lips. They were hot.
Then about 4 or 5 years ago there was a black wheel explosion.
Now that its over, the real lovers of the style can do their thing.

Black center with chrone lips on a black car looks sweet and always will. The next set of wheels for our black GS will be black. The car has not looked the same since I took off the black wheels.

Do it man...don't worry what others think. If you like it go for it!
