Default 2007 ls460l tpms

i was driving recently when the air pressure warning light came on. Not the first time and I was thinking at that point that maybe I had picked up a nail and had a tire losing air. When I moved to the tire pressure display to see which tire it was all I saw was a blank window. The TPMS is reporting no tire pressure figures on any of the 5 tires (4 on the car and the full size spare) at all. Assuming I didn't have 5 separate tire pressure valve stems go bad at the exact same time the issue has to be w/ the TPMS system itself. Curios for input on what I should be looking for. I've seen terms like TPMS control module or TPMS receiver. I suspect I may need to take this to the mechanic to diagnose this though. Anyone have any experience w/ this type of issue?

On a lot of the systems when one goes out the entire system shuts down. Have someone with a TPMS scan tool check all the sensors.

Moved to 4LS forum. You will likely get more/better responses in the model-specific subforums. Welcome to CL!

agreed, a national tire chain or Costco are good places to get new sensors. one bad one and none will show. Likely best to replace them all at once.

Our sensors were bad when we bought our 600hl. Bought new sensors from rockauto. Walmart put them on, $10 a tire. I programmed them using this. Bought "used- good" for ~$50. Also, a handheld tpms reader is handy to have at home and well worth the cost. Pick any well reviewed generic.

Amazon Amazon

Sensors were 25 each if i recall. Dont forget spare.

Thanks so much for the input. I hadn't realized that if one sensor goes bad none of the other tire pressure sensors would show up either. Since all 5 sensors stopped showing a tire pressure at the same time I had convinced myself it was larger TPMS control module type failure. I purchased the tires from Discount Tire and as luck would have it its time for a regular tire rotation and balance anyway so I'll have them check/replace the sensors when I take it in.

I believe later years may show other tires if one goes bad, but early models, it's all or nothing. As it's likely the others are the same age, get all five replaced now.

I had similar issues with my 07 LS460 where TPMS sign comes on often and each time it costs $80. My spare tire sensor had some issue connecting after every few days. I took it to discount tire with 5 new sensors (set of 4 for $37 on Amazon)to replace. But they reprogrammed the spare tire sensor and informed that I don’t need to change them. So I stored the sensors for later use. 2 weeks later TPMS sign comes back on. When spare tire sensor was having problems it did show me the other 4 sensors for few days.after few days it said “take it to the dealer” 🤣 I went to the local tire shop (national chain shops won’t install self purchased sensor in my area) and got the spare tire sensor changed for $15 and programmed it home. Now it shows all 5 sensors. I hate to see that yellow caution light on just cuz of TPMS.
