Default 12v adapter for 10 LS 460?

My mother just got a new 10 LS 460 L a couple of weeks ago and low and behold there is no cigarette lighter in the front to power a radar detector. Any ideas, other than hard wiring the unit, as to how to get an adapter up front?

what is that in front of the shifter? that's still the ashtray right? if so, there should be cigarette lighter in there

otherwise, there should be another 14v supply inside the armrest

On LS 460's from 07-09, yes, there would be an ash tray, however, this is what we have...

Push that little door in front of the shifter. There should be a lighter in there...

The above pic is from the 2010 Lexus website.

Gentlemen, I appreciate you must think I am an idiot, but I am telling you there is nothing behind the door. I attempted to load a pic from my blackberry, however, it did not work. If you look at my signature you'll see I currently own an 07 LS, therefore, I am fully aware of where the cigarette adapter is on the LS. Let me be crystal clear, there is no ash tray behind that door on this 2010 LS.

Yes there is an outlet in the center console, however, she needs to run a radar detector, so having a cord extend from the center console to the dash is not exactly a viable long term solution.

Default Really??

Cigarette lighter as an OPTION? That's nuts. It's like buying a house and the doorbell is an option (KB Homes) LOL.

Also, your mother needs a radar detector with a LS460L? COOL...

This is silly though especially these days with cellphones and laptops etc...

Very interesting...

I don't know if you can tell by the picture I posted but they even include a sticker in the upper left had corner with the classic "no smoking" icon, as if to say, "your dumb enough to smoke, so your probably dumb enough to attempt to put your lighted cigarette in a felt lined container."

Could they not just include the 12v plug with a cap on top instead of a lighter? Call it a "power point" and all would be well...

Theres a 12v connector in the center console in my LS460L so maybe there is one there in your mothers car.

Also, you can hard wire the radar detector. My friend did it for his car by himself and by no means he is good with electronics so if he can do it, most can do it too!
