For Owners who live in Texas..
Ok, for those who use the tollways in Texas, I went to go get an EZtag for my car so I can take the tollway into work. Seems the original EZtags do not work well with the LS since the car has auto sensing windshield wipers which disrupts the toll tag that sticks on the windshield.
For this issue, they have a different toll tag/EZtag that attaches to the front license plate. To be honest, its quite ugly! And to further complicate the issue, the tag supposively suppose to attach to the bottom part of the front license plate. The problem is, the Lexus front license plate holder does not have any screws nor any way to bolt it on the bottom part of the plate without scratching the bumper's paint. Only result is the tag has to be attached to the top part of the plate. Which also means, I cannot use the license plate frame, as the screws are too short.. AND most importantly it covers the word "TEXAS" on the top.
QUESTION: IS this illegal to cover the state name? I have tried, and found no other way to hang this ugly toll tag?? Suggestions? Or any other way to hang this thing???

I'm in Houston, 2007 LS460, and got the newer real skinny white EzTag that goes on the windshield 3 years ago. Works just fine - never had a problem.
Illegal to cover any of the words, pictures, numbers, etc on the Texas plate - which is why car dealers have a new license frame design. You'd probably win in court because it is an official government entity's thingy covering part of your plate.
Go back and get a windshield one!

I have a 2007 LS460, I live in Houston, and I also have the skinny white EZ tag too. I have had no problems whatsoever. And I used the auto sensing windshield wipers two days ago in the rain. I would go back and get one of these. Every time I go to get a new tag, they just automatically gave me the skinny white tag. They did not ask me anything about my car.

I think it would help if some of the TollTag and EZPass user show some pictures of how their transponders are mounted.
Everyone needs to understand that there is nothing about the rain sensor that interferes with the RF-ID technology that these devices use. And, the Lexus windshield does not interfere either.
Here is a picture of mine that has worked satisfactorily for more than two years. I know it is ugly from the outside but from the inside I can not tell that it is there. There is a sensor on the right-forward surface (from the perspective of someone sitting the drivers seat) of the rearview mirror on cars that are configured with the antiglare feature that should not be obstructed. Mine has that feature and you can see it on the opposite side of the mirror from the TollTag.

I have an NTTA TollTag and have attached it to the state inspection sticker. While it is noticeable on the inside, it is out of the way and no more offensive than the back of the inspection sticker. Mounted like this it is visually invisible from the outside. It works perfectly with the tag readers. The only drawback is that once a year I have to replace the velcro strips. Fortunately, the NTTA provides them for free. They will even mail them to you at no charge.
