Does anyone with LS 2007 maps upgrade have the PS override kit installed? Is it affected by the update? I surely hope not, but one cannot be too careful when dealing with these Lexus bastards

I think I may update mine. I thought I read here once that they issue a new update once a year. Does anyone know when the next update happens?

Updates are usually in the Fall.
In Fall of 2010 there will be an update with maps as of Fall of 2009.
It takes a year to drive the updates and verify that they are all correct.

If there's been major construction in your area recently, it may take up to two years for it to be available on an updated map. POI's update sooner.

Lexusnutt,
What dealer did you go to in Ca for the $150 update?
I live in Orange County.

I bought my car last August from Valencia Lexus. I went in a month later and purchased the update for 150.00 (reg. 199.00) after some negotiation with the sales manager (after all, I just bought a car)!

As it turned out, their computers were not up to date and my install was delayed 6 weeks. When I picked it up, they said Sorry for the inconvenience, "No charge" for the install!

I would try going to your local Lexus dealer and see if you can get some kind of discount when you take it in for maintenance... Good Luck!

Thanks for the info, I will try to get a deal on the next service visit at Park Place in Mission Viejo.
You got a great deal, I doubt if I can beat it.
