Don't think its worth the extra money but, can respect those who feel it is. Not enough exterior change for me to get excited. I like the LS the way it is non-sport though! Just a way for Lexus to charge extra for the LS in my opinion though many will disagree!! L.G.N.M

Anyone know how to make shiny wood dull? I'm loving the interior on this beast. The saddle and matte finish is to die for.

get some good 1000 grid sander and some smooth sanding

there are also some matt finish vinyl that you can put on

Think im gonna test this out on some left over pieces from a woodgrain dash kit to see how it works first. If so, watch out CL! Thanks for that hint.

just keep in mind. the gloss clear layer on the wood trims are pretty thin!!!!! so depending on how you do it, 1000 grid might be on the aggressive side. rule of thumb is always start out with as fine as possible, 3000 grid is probably too find, but won't hurt going from there

and then again, using the vinyl might be easiest. you can talk to aerotect, they are vendor here

Maybe there is some laminate of some sort that you could just put over the wood to subdue the gloss effect?!? I'm not sure, but putting sand paper to my original wood dash makes me a little weary. haha

here you go. again they are vendor here, you can always contact them for more info. talk to jason or francisco, tell them henry refers you. they are great guys. good thing about using these is you can always peel them away and you get the gloss look back. of course you will need to play with it and see how to wrap them nicely

Thanks Rominl. I'll definately give it some trial and error before i even think about touching the wood in my car. Have to master the art first but its some good fun to do while wasting some shop time.

I like the subtle differences.
Is there an "S" or "Sport" badging somewhere on the outside to let me know what I'm looking at?

No, the LS Sport has no badging of any sort. The only way you can really tell a true LS "Sport Authentic" is if it has the brembo brakes, the 19" forged alloys and specifically the two tone black/saddle leather interior.

The sport appearance package is available on the regular LS. It is comprised of the aero kit and sport mesh grill.

the front looks IS'sh, but the matte wood looks great, and so does the saddle leather accents!
