I did this low beam replacement yesterday. My hat's off to those of you who can do this in 20 minutes! The dealer wanted $147 each for just the bulbs, but I found Philips D4S bulbs at Home Depot online for about $50 each.

I decided to do just one side at a time and to remove the wheel. The first side took me 3 hours mostly due to getting the fender liner pulled down and then pinned back up in all the right places. (The presbyopia didn't help either!) The second side I did on just over an hour. I used to own a 1988 BMW M5 and thought the German engineers put things in crazy places under the hood. However, this was an insane amount of effort just to replace low beam bulbs.

After all my online research, I was expecting to find Sylvanias installed. However, what I pulled out were the exact Philips model that I had ordered as a replacement.

3 hour on one side is ridiculous! I could probably feel around in the dark and take it off in less time

I kept the wheels on, Turned the wheel all the way to the left or right and jacked up the car for more gap clearance. The hardest part was twisting of the cap that was frozen on there. I put a very light bead of grease on the seals when I put the cap back on in the end.
