Default IIHS Ratings

Why did the LS only get a marginal overall saftey rating from the IIHS?

The rear crash protection is the area where IIHS gives out often the lowest scores...a generation back, the scores were worse. Now with new headrest designs the scores have gone up, and yes M is better now. But until the Active Head Restraints on the LS (international) make it to the US then the scores may still be lower than the top picks.
