I am looking at the BMW - MB - AUDI offerings. After my LS460 experience I want to stay away from Lexus. Not that the car is that bad, but I believe that the edge that Lexus has in Customer Service and quality is no longer there and the competing products and companies now surpass Lexus in many areas.

Good luck Maurice. Although the competing offerings are definitely getting better, the reliability and overall workmanship of Lexus is still light-years ahead IMHO. I do agree that this issue is really annoying though.
There are other items too. For example, I drove my vehicle on a 4 hour round trip this week and averaged 27.4 mpg. There's no competing offering in this class with these accoutrements that can come close.

There are pros and cons in almost every choice, and clearly Lexus past success speaks for itself, but all I can do is vote with my wallet and at present I will go out of my way to deny Lexus any revenue where I have a say.
The alternatives are quite good - I am aware these could also have issues. In the past, Lexus issues were expediently dealt with and it is just not the case any longer. Friends with the A8 are extremely pleased. I am going to test drive de new BMW 7 series. Also - we will se what are the Market conditions next March when my lease is up.

The problem with his car is likely no different from hundreds of, probably thousands of, others who were successful with arbitration. To be treated as if you are imagining this problem is insulting. As far as it being a subjective problem, I believe it is. There are probably a lot more owners who have this problem and don't realize it than there are owners imagining that they have a wind noise problem. People don't want to have this problem and try to convince themselves that they didn't pay those big bucks to have to be reminded every time they drive their car that something is very wrong.
I continue to believe that the vast majority of the wind noise problems are related to the triangle trim defect and that most cars would benefit from a retrofit.
I have made a very concerted effort to tell Lexus about this problem and I have urged others to tell Lexus.

I agree jim! I can't imagine being completely ignored by Lexus after shelling out this type of money. CRAZY!

My question is simple, has anyone that has used Jim C. fix seen the wind noise go away completely?
I own not lease a 2007 LS460 swb and have had it to four different Lexus dealers. They all tell me the same thing as the rest of you. "We have done all the TSB's and in our opinion the wind noise has diminished". They have never said the noise is gone completely. All the current TSB's have been done.
I just got my car back from the dealer and they would not do the Triangle fix because it is not covered by warranty or TSB. If someone has proof positive that the Triangle is the problem. Then maybe they will listen.

You are not likely to get a Lexus dealer to do an adequate repair of the trim and most of them will not do any repair in that area because Lexus has apparently expressly forbidden it.

Before you try to talk your dealer into doing the trim fix, you need to understand that all of the warranty repair decisions are made by Lexus and are pre-authorized. I am fairly sure that Lexus is not going to authorize a repair to your trim in the manner that is being discussed in this thread. It seems that Lexus sees the "wind noise problem" as problem that is peculiar to the individual owner (idiopathic) and not a car problem - you know, sort of a no defective cars, just some defective owners - and in accordance with that philosophy they get to a point where they decide that they will not do any more wind noise warranty work on a car and I expect that your car is at that point. If they ever decide there is a problem with the cars they have the engineering skills to quickly solve this problem. So much time has passed it seems very unlikely that a solution will be coming from Lexus.
Several of the participants in this discussion have tried to force their dealers to do the triangle repair and with one exception - "garyr" - no one has gotten good results even though they were assured the trim had been repaired and this is likely because the repair was inadequate. I don't think Lexus will authorize this type of repair on any car or provide any guidance to dealers.
If you are able to talk them into doing the trim repair on the basis of others successes and you get good results, then good for you. But, if you talk them into doing something and your results are not good then you should not give up until you are very confident that an adequate trim repair has been made even if you have to do it independent of Lexus.
Likely your car is not inhabited by gremlins, it is not missing some foam, nothing was left out, the robots on the production line didn't rebel, nothing exotic. It is probably that little piece of trim at the corners of the windows in the front doors. Repair is easy and inexpensive and the results are usually outstanding. When noisy cars are adequately repaired they are transformed into exceptionally quiet cars.
